How to Stay Organized During School Season

Its September which means heavier traffic and school is back in session. For those of us with children, this time of the year can be quite chaotic. Getting back into our routines along with the plethora of papers that come home with them can be a lot. Without proper organization, our homes can be a direct reflection of the chaos going on in our lives. Here are some tips to keep your home warm, inviting, and most importantly efficient!

Make your Entryway Apart of your Routine
Outside of the usual coat hanger or key holder, your entryway can hold way more to service you and make your morning or evening routine way simpler. Creating an efficient entryway is also helpful for families by making a routine for children. You can do this by adding extra hangers for their backpacks, cubby area for their shoes, and even a bench to make it easier to set things down or take on and off shoes.

Maximize your Space
In the common areas of your home, things can get thrown around everywhere. Baskets come in handy to give a home to items that would usually be thrown around your home. It’s also easy to store these away whether in a storage outoman, cubby space for children, or TV stand.

Labeling
As previously mentioned, having baskets is an awesome organizing tool for your home. However, sometimes it can take too much time trying to find something that we stashed away. Making labels makes the organizing process ten times more efficient by being able to see exactly what everything is.

Its Okay to Throw Away
Papers and small items can easily accumulate, turing into monstrous pile of clutter that you’ll dread going through to the point that it just sits there. Determine what you need and throw out the rest of it. Filing important documents away also helps to minimize the appearance of paper clutter. Additionally try to go paperless as much as possible!

Set Room Boundaries
As we all know, our little ones have not totally grasped the concept of putting things back where they belong so organization can be a tad bit difficult. Keeping certain items only in designated area will tremendously help in the long run and cut down on clean up time.
There are many more tips that we can share with you, but these are the essential five to maintaining an organized home.
